Last time I was in East London on a street art hunt I came across this...
Its a large union, the second photo shows you the scale...
I did spend some time trying to suss out what the words meant... Check the video and details below from the itzsoweezee blog!
Pictures On Walls recently invited French graffiti artist Tilt to East London to paint his Union Jack ( that is made up of lyrics from the Sex Pistols “God Save the Queen”) large scale on the magic wall of the Village Underground.
The video was Directed by Benjamin Roudet aka Big Addict who also collaborated with the artist back in October to create the video ENDLESS OBSESSION, Artists Serie 001.
I danced to some incredible music in some incredible places with some incredible people!
Yep, 2011 was fun... I was 40 in January and was amazed when life didn't really begin, but to be honest I think I have had a good run at it so far... As part of my 40th year I wanted to mark it with something of significance and not let it just become another blur of a big night out and a whopping hangover for 3 days after... So I walked across England, West to East coast following the Wainwright route... It was simply amazing and I would recommend it to anyone if you can spare 2 weeks...
I kept a day-to-day blog of my adventures, you can check it HERE
Music wise, and do I LOVE music! There was so much, jazz, soul, dubstep, disco, house, hip hop, my feasting was never ending...
Highlights include
Most of the good stuff made it onto my NuNorthern Soul blog and podcasts so you can take a peak and listen to the ones that floated my boat!
I rediscovered my love for Ibiza... I played a couple of times at Space for We Love as I do each year, but this year my music was really accepted, mixing up soul, disco, jazz, yes jazz, beats, house for the We Love crowd and it going down really well... Plus cracking on after the club, playing very laid back records on an a beach and getting to have a Jazz dance off with the legend that is A Guy Called Gerald before getting my head down on the dance floor at DC-10 reminded me of the essence of Ibiza... Good times had by all!!!
The Garden Festival in Croatia also proved once again to be one of the best events in the festival calendar... 2012 see's it pack up its bags and head to a new as yet unannounced home, looking forward to seeing that!
Party moment
Work
LIke everyone I guess 2011 had some sticky moments but we seem to push through and the back end of the year picked up. I managed to attend ADE for the first time, sitting in on 2 panels discussing the future of Cloud Computing and the music industry. It was such a positive event, I got to catch up with so many faces from the industry I have not seen since back in the day when I was falling out of trees in Amnesia, Ibiza hahaha
2012 is already looking very exciting with some interesting plans afoot with our good friends We Love, planning for Ibiza season 2012 has already started!
So thats my obligatory 2011 round up... I am sure I have forgot loads, but hey ho, it is what it is!
Have a great festive season and all the best for 2012...
Continuing my research and meddling into ifttt and the blog I wrote last week I have created several tasks and I am letting them run their course... You can read the previous post HERE
I have set up some nifty tasks such as auto saving photos I take on instagr.am to a designated folder on my cloud storage system, Dropbox...
Infact, this is also set up to add posts I make in this Posterous blog that have the #geekout to my Sentric Digital Facebook page...
So yet another social networking tool has ended up under my nose, and not one to shy away from some geekery fun...
It appears on my first dabble that its a platform that allows you to link various social networking tools and platforms to automate some basic actions and also with some clever meddling, allow for some quite nifty applications, these applications are called 'recipes' and users can submit theirs for other people to adapt and make their own...
Its in principle quite a nice idea, for example you can set it up to search Twitter for key words or #Hash Tags and / or from individuals or just in general then retweet those messages automatically... Basic tweet bot stuff, but without all the palaver of having to do any coding.
I also looked at setting up adding photos from instagr.am that I like from other instragr.am users profiles direct to my Facebook news feed, that worked ok...
I think some serious meddling and mangling is needed, but I do see some immediate uses that will make my life easier managing key aspects of social communities for my clients.
Stuck deciding what to drink when your caught up in your Nina Simone moment, or bouncing to Crazy P? Well thanks to this nifty site, thats a problem no more!
This lovely track is from the amazing album by Vindahl, the title of the album is Serendipity and is available from Tokyo Dawn... I really recommend you purchase it.
